The Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics aims to equip students with essential skills for a dynamic and evolving field. This is an embedded certificate available to students in the Master of Business Analytics (MBAN) program.
The program combines expertise from Data Analytics, Health Services Management, and Technology Management to provide a comprehensive foundation in health data analytics. In addition, students explore healthcare-focused topics, such as ethical data use, data security, geo-spatial applications, and leveraging data to enhance team-based care and optimize organizational processes.
The Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics program integrates real-world engagement and scholarship through coursework designed to build both technical and administrative competencies. By the end of the program, graduates will be prepared to apply their skills, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset to make a positive impact and drive innovation within the healthcare organizations and practices they serve. This certificate is embedded within the Master of Business Analytics (MBAN) program, allowing students to develop advanced skills to create, evaluate, refine, and implement analytics applications that drive business innovation and success.

#2 Core Data and IT Competency: Develop and apply essential data and IT skills critical for a wide range of roles within healthcare organizations.
#3 Application of Advanced Analytics Skills: Acquire the ability to apply advanced analytics in health service design and delivery. Enhance coordinated care among providers and partners while improving efficiency through effective process management and practices.
#4 Health Data Integration Capabilities: Master the skills needed to merge, synchronize, and process health data from diverse sources using key computing applications.
This program follows the general admission requirements and procedures of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research as outlined in the Graduate Studies Academic calendar, with the following additional requirements and procedures:
Students who are interested in the program but who are not enrolled in the MBAN program are able to complete the Graduate Diploma in Health Data Analytics.
MBAN is a 42-credit hour program that can be completed in 16 months of full-time study (4 semesters). The program consists of 8 required courses, 4 elective courses and 1 of 3 experiential learning options: Consulting, Research, or Internship. A longitudinal Professional Development course, MBAN 6010 (non-credit, mandatory), will ensure that students have the professional skills necessary for success in their chosen career.
As part of the MBAN program, students earn an embedded Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics.
The Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics is a 9-credit-hour program designed for completion during full-time study in the MBAN program (3 semesters). The curriculum includes three required courses.
