The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a well-established, foundational degree and requires the requirements listed below alongside general graduation requirements.
For admission to the program, students must have completed Introductory Sociology (SOCI 1210) with a minimum grade of C.
The major in Sociology required the completion of the following thirty-six (36) credit hours:

For honours in Sociology, students must complete sixty (60) credit hours as follows:
The honours thesis may be either a research-based or a service learning-based project.
To graduate with honours, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 in SOCI courses as well as earn a grade of B+ (3.30) in Honours Thesis Writing (SOCI 4601).
The minor in Sociology requires twenty-four (24) credit hours in Sociology completed with a minimum grade point average of 2.00. Required courses include:
